Scope of service

The new construction of the Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Clinik (KPP) in Biberach an der Riß includes the construction of second wards as well as a day clinic for psychotherapy and an outpatient center for psychotherapy with an earth-filled connecting corridor to the newly built Sana Clinic.

Due to the use-related deviating floor plan geometry consisting of rooms and corridors between the upper floor and entrance levels, a girder grid consisting of beams was implemented. In this way, the loads of the floors above could be absorbed and a supporting structure optimally adapted to the use could be developed. By means of cantilevered bulkhead walls in reinforced concrete, cantilevered building areas were realized on the upper floor. The building components in contact with the ground were planned as a WU construction. Special foundation measures were required due to the low load-bearing capacity of the soil layers. The different storey levels were guided to the load-bearing subsoil by means of lean concrete plugs embedded in the subsoil to a depth of up to 4 meters.

Thanks to a supporting structure with a minimized number of load bearing walls and columns, a high degree of flexibility in use is ensured. The greatest possible freedom of installation is ensured by flat slabs in cast-in-place concrete on column grids. Future connection areas were planned directly.
